Accessibility Statement
Everyone in District 83 deserves an equal seat at the table — including online.
Last updated: July 1, 2026
The Jason Payne for SC House District 83 campaign is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including neighbors who rely on assistive technology.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are the internationally recognized standards for making web content accessible to people with a wide range of abilities.
What we’ve done
- Semantic, well-structured HTML with clear headings and landmarks.
- A “Skip to main content” link for keyboard and screen-reader users.
- Visible keyboard focus indicators throughout the site.
- Color combinations chosen to meet AA contrast for text.
- Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Support for reduced motion — animations are minimized for visitors who prefer less movement.
- Forms with clear labels and status messages.
- Layouts that adapt to phones, tablets, and desktops without loss of content.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is not a one-time task. As we add content and features, we test with keyboard navigation and screen readers and fix issues we find. If something isn’t working for you, we want to know.
